Pvt Alexander Kowalczyk attended Sterling High School and was employed at General Mills Inc.He enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 20 March 1944 and was sent overseas in August 1944.
His brother Edward served 18 months with the U.S. Marines in the Southwest Pacific.
