Pvt Karl A. Krone Jr. enlisted in Altoona, Pennsylvania on 10 April 1943.

He attended 4 years of college and was a salesmen and an investigator for a credit company before he enlisted. He went overseas in June 1944.

He married Frances M. Sohmer on 13 June 1942 at the Methodist Church in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. They got two children.

His brother, Robert M. Krone was a Captain in the Army Air Force and was stationed in Michigan in 1945.

Pvt Krone was first reported missing in action before his wife received a message in 1945 saying that he had been killed in action 28 August 1944.
