Sgt Ernest G. Kaiser enlisted in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on 28 December 1943.He was a former football star at Washington and Jefferson College and coach at Mt. Pleasant High School, Hickory. Prior to his induction into the service he was athletic coach and instructor at Mt. Pleasant Township High School and had previously held similar positions at Youngwood and Derry Township in Westmoreland County.
