Pvt Frank J. Delconte graduated from Pittston Township High School before he enlisted in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 22 March 1943. He trained at Camp Blanding, Florida and Little Rock, Arkansas.He had been overseas for ten months and served in the North African and Italian campaigns before his unit was sent to France.
At the time of his death, his brother John served in the Air Corps with the rank of corporal.
