Pfc. Charles B. Brazier, a step-brother of Mrs. George Davis, Wood River, and a brother of Mrs. Margie Mildred Brazier Cox, formerly of East Alton but now a resident of Mt. Vernon, Ind. was killed in action in Holland. He served with gliderborne infantry and is believed to have been with a unit cut off near Arnhem. Brazier was reared near Shawneetown, but often had visited his sister and spent his last furlough of two weeks in Alton just before being sent overseas in September of 1943.
