More information

Pfc Carl R. Walitalo enlisted in Spokane, Washington on 27 November 1942.

His parents were both born in Finland.

On one picture Carl Walitalo poses on the right and Hugo Pelto on the left. Here they're posed on the famous highway, Route 66, near Amarillo, Texas. This photo was from just before they both enlisted.

Anothe phoo showes the Walitalo family. His father Richard is seated in their Ford Model T, approximately in 1925. His mother Mary stands to the left. The kids are, from left to right, Carl, Bertha, Herman, Einard, John, and Felma. Not pictured are Edsel (he was not yet born) and Mamie (she was about 17 years old at the time, and took the photo with her brand new camera).
