Pfc Leo F. Chasse worked as an machine oiler before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 8 May 1944. He trained at Fort McClellan, Alabama and Fort Benning, Georgia before he went overseas.

He was killed during a night patrol, crossing the Rhine river.
