Lt Edmund I. Bolstad graduated from the University of North Dakota. He was employed as a high school teacher in the Cando School District in North Dakota.He enlisted in Fargo, North Dakota in the Air Corps on 21 March 1941.
The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters.
He was initially buried at the cemetery of Zwischenahn, Germany on 8 October 1943.
He is remembered at the Concordia Cemetery in Fertile, Polk County, Minnesota.
