1st Lt Arthur C. Hon graduated from Central High School and University of Oklahoma. He was employed at Stanolind Oil & Gas Company.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in the fall of 1942 and was commissioned in July, 1943 at Fort Sumner, New Mexico. He was sent overseas in February, 1944

Aircraft 42-97382 collided with aircraft 42-102452, piloted by Lt Herb Moore. A/C 452 was trying to avoid an exploding aircraft. It rammed with its props about over the cockpit of A/C 382 which broke the ship into two and blew up. Both ships went down in flames, 12 to 15 chutes were reported.

Only the radio operator David G. Long and Waist Gunners Floyd Tams and Helimuth Sickerott survived.

The other crewmembers were initially buried in the cemetery of Kamberg.
