T/Sgt Raymond W. Wright graduated from Rushville High School. He was employed by the International Furniture Company in Rushville.He enlisted on 1 September 1942.
T/Sgt Wright was well known as a softball player. He had a three year old son, Ronald Lee Wright, who was born in 1940.
Aircraft #42-31113, that was flying above aircraft #42-30872, was attacked by enemy aircraft. One engine was shot off and hit their airplane, causing them both to crash. No parachutes were seen.
The entire crew of both aircraft was killed.
