1st Lt Ewing J. Le Blanc attended South Western Louisiana Institute in Lafeyette, Louisiana. He was an architect.He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in new Orleans, Louisiana on 19 May 1942.
When the B-17 #42-30860 was attacked by fighters, witnesses saw it exploded and, when going down, colliding with #42-3265 between the Dutch mainland and the Frisian Islands east of Texel.
Nine crew members were killed, one survived and was taken prisoner.
Lt Le Blanc was initially buried at the cemetery of Kimswerd on 18 December 1943.
