1st Lt Manfred Schnier immigrated on 5 April 1926. His father was a veteren of the Richthofen Squadron in 1914.He graduated from Manual Training High School in 1935. He soon joined the National Guard and served with the 165th Infantry beofre he was transferred to the 101st Cavalry in 1936. On 16 December 1940, he was sent to Fort Benning for Officer's Training School from which he graduated on 4 August 1942.
He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant in 1943 and was sent overseas in August of that year.
He was wounded on 8 April 1945 in the vicinity of Gieselwerder and died three days later.
