Pvt Roy J. Hylton was a policeman before he enlisted in Fort George G Meade, Maryland on 13 March 1944.

He was died of his wounds after he was taken prisoner of war. According to a grave-report he suffered a gunshot wound in the loin and died of weakness of circulation of the hart and blood.

His remains were found by a medical company at the community cemetery of Heinerscheid, Luxembourg on 26 December 1944. In this town was an American dressing station that was overrun by the Germans.
