Pfc Eugene C. Eakin enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 23 February 1943.

He was seriously wounded on 20 December in Bastogne, Belgium. He was wounded a 2nd time and died in a hospital in Paris, France.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Solers, France.
