After his graduation from the Two Rivers High School Cpl Norbert H. Kowalski worked on his father's farm until he began working at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding company as a machinist.He enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 24 November 1942.
Cpl Kowalski died of injuries received on 2 January 1945.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France
