Pvt John T. Markos Jr. graduated from Cohoes High School and was employed at Delaware & Hudson Railroad Company.He enlisted in Albany, New York on 9 January 1943 and was sent overseas in May 1944.
His brothers, Andrew and Stanley also served. Andrew was reported wounded in action in France.
