Pfc Normand D. Blanchette was a metal worker.

He enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 21 May 1942.

On the evening of 28 December 1944, Pfc Blanchette and Arthur Teichman were on patrol when they encountered a German machine gun nest. The fight had lasted into the night. The day after a rescue team found their bodies on a little trail.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.
