T/Sgt Lucien V. Nadeau graduated from Chicopee Trade School and worked for the Springfield Armory before he enlisted in Springfield, Massachusetts on 3 March 1941. He was sent overseas in February 1944.He was earlier reported wounded in action by shrapnel in his knee for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time. After recovering in a hospital in England, he rejoined his unit in February 1945.
He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his action at the Anzio beachhead.
