Capt Howard A. Wheeler attended high school for 4 years and was a driver before he joined the National Guard in Jamestown, New York on 16 September 1940.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Hochfelden, France.
He is remembered at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, Chautauqua County, New York.
