Sgt John B. Hancock worked as a manager at an A & P Store before he enlisted at Camp Blanding, Florida on 11 May 1943.He was sent to North Africa on Thanksgiving Day of 1943 and he served with his unit during the campaign in Italy and he also landed in the coast of southern France.
