Pfc Cecil E. Harris worked on a farm before he enlisted in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on 22 December 1943.William Harris received confirmation from the U.S. military that his father's remains had been found on 3 September 2013 in a shallow grave, north of Dambach, France.
He was given his final resting place at the Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
