Pfc Emile E. Chevalier attended Greenfield High School and was employed at Greenfield Tape & Die Company.

He enlisted in Springfield, Massachusetts on 22 March 1943. He was sent overseas in October 1943 and participated in the campaigns of North Africa and Anzio.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Saint-Juan, France.
