Dwight C. Wheatley graduated from Randolph high school with the class of 1939. He was employed by the Bryant Chucking Grinder Company.

He enlisted on 9 September 1942 and graduated from the radio school at Scott field, Illoins and the gunnery school at Harlingen, Texas. He was sent overseas in July 1944.

Just after target B-24 below us went into a spin. Two chutes came out followed by two more. Shortly after I saw this aircraft crash.
Bailed out, and murdered by German civilians.
He was found on the street of Medenbach, and buried at Wiesbaden Cemetery Germany.
