S/Sgt Clarence W. Henderson was a gardener and ground keeper before he enlisted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 4 August 1942.2nd Lt James H. Keeffe:
The aircraft 42-73504 was above our ship and to the left. It passed on the left going down and one body came out of aircraft at the waist. It was a delayed jump. Another body came from waist and was in flames. Bomb bays were blown open and entire waist was in flames. Ship glided down to left and tail broke off.
