S/Sgt Arthur C. Bockelman was a student at Mount Healthy School before he enlisted in Cincinnati, Ohio on 25 April 1942.The plane was shot down by rocket fire from fighters.
S/Sgt Lloyd E. Brimmer:
Do to the fact our plane was hit in the tail end. It is my belief that he was either killed outright or was injured so bad that he couldn’t bail out.
Bockelman didn't leave the airplane.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
