Lt Hollis attended Pearl River College and later went to Mississippi State College to study engineering. He left college during his senior year to joined the Air Corps.

He graduated with the highest grade in his class at navigator school.

Just after target B-24 below us went into a spin. Two chutes came out followed by two more. Shortly after a saw this aircraft crash.

He bailed out an was murdered by German civilians. He was first buried at Cemetery of Niederseelbach, Germany.
