T/Sgt Robert M. Flannery graduated from St. Clair High School in 1941.

He enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 24 May 1943.

The airplane was rammed by a BF 109, flown by Uffz. Heinrich Rosner of Sonderkommando Elbe.

Two crew members survived and were taken prisoner, eight were killed.
