Pvt Karl M. Noeth was a Roosevelt High School senior when he enlisted in November 1943. He was sent overseas in October 1944.He was taken prisoner of war and died of wounds, caused by shell splinters in both thighs, resulting in extensive gangrene.
He died in the monastery of Himmerod, Germany and was initially buried at the army cemetery of the monastery.
