Pfc Clifford J. Beers attended Charlotte Valley High School and worked on the family farm with his father.

He enlisted in Utica, New York on 18 December 1943.

Pfc Beers was reported missing in action on 17 December 1944 and declared dead on 18 December 1945.

His remains were found in a mass grave in Winterspelt in 1960. The graves were found while digging holes for new telephone poles and yelded 11 bodies. The remains were identified by the dog tags and miscellaneous personal effects. His remains were shipped to Davenport for Burial in the Davenport Cemetery.

Pfc Beers was laid to rest on 26 November 1960 at Davenport Cemetery in Davenport, Delaware County, New York.
