Robert G. Liggett graduated from Oakwood Township High School. Following he was a railroad telegrapher at Greenhill until entering the army on 30 March 1944. He received training at Camp Hood, Texas and Camp Atterbury, Indiana.Sgt Liggett was killed instantly by enemy machine gun fire on patrol duty near the Roer river.
