Pfc Michael P. Scamacca enlisted in Fort Dix, New Jersey on 22 May 1944. Overseas since last October, he is the holder of the Combat Infantryman's Badge. Pfc Scamacca was the father of two children and only son of Mrs. Angelina Scamacca.

He attended high school for 1 year and was a painter before he enlisted.
