2nd Lt Donald H. Shaw graduated from Syracuse University in 1942.He enlisted in Albany, New York on 18 May 1942. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on 15 February 1943. He arrived in England 17 August 1944 and was in combat since October 1944.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, France.
