Pfc Robert E. Erwin graduated from Roseville High School.He enlisted at Fort Hayes Columbus, Ohio on 8 June 1942 an received his training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was sent overseas in July 1944.
He learned to know Margie during training and e married with her before his departure. She got pregnant and died in childbirth along with the baby (son), a month before Pfc Erwin was killed in Germany. His family always tought that because of the news Robert wasn't so careful anymore.
At the time of his death his brother John was also serving in Germany.
