Pvt John Silbernagel enlisted in Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 25 May 1944.
He worked on a farm before he enlisted.
He was reported missing and was buried in a mass grave with 8 other soldiers in a little cemetery in Ensdorf until after the war. He was officially listed as unknown X-3233 until he was reburied in 1948.
