T/5 Sidney S. Maciag graduated from Bayonne Junior High School and attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel School before he was employed by the Atlas Steel Barre Co.He enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 17 June 1943.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, France. He was sent overseas in September 1944.
His brother Edward served in the Pacific Theater of Operations where he was wounded in action and fully recovered. Also another brother served during the war.
