Pfc Donald J. Gallagher attended high school for 1 year and worked in the grocery store conducted by his father before he enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 30 June 1942. He had been overseas since December 1942. He died in France of wounds received in action.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Hochfelden, France.
