More information

T/5 John V. Terzolo graduated from Solvay High School and was employed at the Solvay Process Company.

He enlisted in Fort Niagara, Youngstown, New York on 17 March 1942.

On the night of 7-8 February 1944, in the Mediterranean theater during an enemy encounter, wire communications from the Infantry battalions command post to one of the company were repeatedly disrupted by enemy artillery fire, Pfc Terzolo patrolled the line throughout the night over a route frequently under heavy fire. His efforts made possible the maintenance of essential communications. For his actions he was awarded the Silver Star.
