Pvt Leonard J. Steffan enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 29 August 1944.He attended St. Mary's Parochial School in Leipsic, Ohio. Prior to his unduction he was engaged in farming. Pfc Steffan received his basic training at Camp Wolters, Texas. He left for overseas Jan. 15, 1945, landed in England and was transferred to Belgium and later to Germany.
