More information

S/Sgt Edward L. Miller enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 13 March 1943. He attended Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Penssylvania.

In a letter to his family on 10 June 1946, C.B. Davison, told what happened that day. His company had moved in Kesternich and was holding his position in the houses. At a certain time, they noticed that everybody had moved and their platoon was left behind with no food or help. S/Sgt Miller, together with S/Sgt Joseph B. Wadman from B Company, who is also buried at Margraten, decided to go back through the town and find the rest of the company. At that time it was already night. It was the last time they saw them.

Later their bodies were found with no marks or wounds so they probably were killed by shell of mortar fire.
