Pfc Charley R. Deweese Jr. enlisted at Camp Wolters, Texas on 30 May 1944.

He was killed by small arms fire in the back.

He never new his youngest son Jimmy who was born on the date of his father's death.

He was initially buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Ittenbach, Germany on 12 April 1945. After being disinterred, his remains were reburied in a temporary grave at Margraten on 4 September 1945. After being disinterred a second time on 23 September 1948, he was given his final resting place on 26 January 1949.
