More information

Lloyd Linkletter was the oldest of six children and was just nine years old when his mother died during the birth of her sixth child in 1929. He moved to Massachusetts during the Depression to work at various poultry farms and ultimately returned to his home state of Maine at the end of 1939. His youngest brother Parker remembered him as being a prankster and someone who enjoyed getting a laugh out of others.

He enlisted in Bangor, Maine on 28 July 1942. He was sent overseas in February 1945.

One picture shows him posing with two of his sisters, his younger brother and their father.
