Cpl Edwin L. Riggs graduated from Anderson High School in 1940 where he earned the nickname 'Professor'. He later was employed at Delco-Remy.He enlisted in Indianapolis, Indiana on 4 February 1943 and was first assigned to the Air Corps. He was sent overseas on 4 March 1945.
He died of wounds, received the same day.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery Ittenbach, Germany.
