Mylan Zwiener's father was born in Germany and his mother's parents immigrated from Denmark.He enlisted in October 1942.
On this mission a great deal of enemy opposition was encountered (over 100 enemy aircraft) causing 10 aircraft of his unit to be lost.
He was seen helping the ball turret gunner out of his position, together with Thomas Healey, but was not seen again as others parachuted out.
Four crew members survived and were taken prisoner, six men were killed.
