S/Sgt Russell B. Readding graduated from Bellows High School in 1940. He employed as a stock clerk for Stroheim & Romann.

He enlisted in the Air Corps in July 1942. He was sent overseas in March 1943.

The bomber was shot down above the Scheldemonding by Otto Bach of JG-26.
