Surviving crew member reports indicate the aircraft was attacked by enemy fighters south east of Brussels, Belgium. The right wing caught fire and 2nd Lt Charles H. Mowers ordered the crew to bail out. All men bailed out and survived. Charles Mowers was last seen in pilots seat, preparing to abandon the ship which was on fire on right wing.
