2nd Lt Harold T. King graduated from Buffalo Technical High School in Buffalo, New York and attended the University of Buffalo for two years.

He enlisted in Buffalo, New York, on 12 March 1942.

A/C 42-30211, piloted by Capt Joel Bunch, was seen to be hit by four enemy fighters over the target at Huls, Germany. The aircraft was last seen leveled off at 5,000 feet after dropping bombs at 0945 hours, with the nose and tail destroyed by the attack. Four to ten chutes were reported to have been seen leaving the ship.

Sgt Leroy Morris, radio operator on A/C 42-30211, reported seeing 2nd Lt King on the ground with serious abdominal wounds. The Germans threw him in a truck, supposedly to take him to a hospital. He was reported dead at a later point in time.
