Wyoming Aviator awarded Medal;
Floyd Hoover, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hoover, of Rock Springs, and who has been listed as missing in action since June 13, has been awarded the Air Medal, according to word received by his parents from Sgt. Hoover's wife, living in the state of Washington.

Young Hoover was one of the first of the Green River Boys to go into active service, having enlisted in the 41st military police company in June 1941, and leaving here with that unit when it was called into active service the following September, after having spent part of the summer on maneuvers. Later, desiring to fly, he secured a transfer to the Air Forces and advanced to the rank of a staff sergeant to be sent overseas to North Africa and then on to England.
He is a native son of Green River, having been born and raided here, and graduating from the Green River high school prior to his enlistment. In high school, he took an interest and a leading part in all school activities.
