2nd Lt David E. Bail Jr. graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1939 and attended the University of Florida.He enlisted in the Spring of 1942.
The airplane was shot down by enemy aircraft and flak, which knocked out two engines. The entire crew of ten men was killed.
Lt Bail is remembered at Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.
