2nd Lt Edward A. Lawton graduated from Mechanics Art High School and attended Boston University. He was a machinist.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Boston, Massachusetts on 27 January 1942.

The aircraft was attacked by enemy fighters. The entire crew of ten men was killed.
