Pvt Gordon E. Waldron attended high school for 4 years before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 16 April 1943.

He was wounded on 9 January on his birthday and died of his wounds on 10 January 1945.

He has a memorial at the corner of Maverick and Curve Street in Dedham, Massachusetts.
